Hello and greetings to you all once again. Well, winter is finally trailing off. It was a long, cold, white one, but as usual we have persevered and made it through to another spring. Spring is a time of rebirth and new beginnings. I truly love this time of year. Brown turns to green, cold to warm and dark to light. The sounds of birds are returning and I have noticed the first small green leaves peaking from the earth. Soon we will hear the sounds of baseball bats, motorcycles and children playing outside. What could be better?
As for me, this will be my last article as President of the Executive Committee for IAODAPCA. My term will come to an end at the end of June, as will my sixth year on the board. I have to tell you all what an honor and privilege it has been to represent all of you. I have been in this field long enough to have had the opportunity to meet many of you at various meetings, events and conferences. It is so comforting to know that this field is full of professionals who understand hard work, dedication and ethical behavior. This is truly a joyful thing and a blessing.
I would be remise if I didn’t say a few things about those whom I have worked with on the Board over the past 6 years. What a great group of folks, all dedicated to furthering the work that we do. They are truly a wonderful group of professionals who have the best interests of the field at heart. It is inspiring when people can come together, put their personal agendas on hold and get the good work done. Then there is the IAODAPCA staffs that are the hardest working bunch of people I have seen in a long time. They have been so good to work with as well.
Well, that’s it from me. I wish you all a safe and happy spring. Enjoy the warmer weather and keep doing the great work that you all do!
